Lou Joseph
President and CEO
Lou Joseph’s managerial style and daily involvement in the operations of Brewer-Garrett have been a key factor in the company’s success. By creating, maintaining, and encouraging an environment for success, he has assembled a team consisting of the best the HVAC industry has to offer. By fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of the company, Lou Joseph has led our employees to exceed the customers’ expectations time and time again.
Lou received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Michigan. He is a licensed contractor in the State of Ohio in HVAC, Hydronics, Plumbing, and Refrigeration.
Jeffrey Zellers
Vice President
Jeff Zellers coordinates the efforts of engineering, energy services, construction support service, service maintenance, and accounting to produce innovative and award-winning solutions for our clients. He focuses on assembling the right team of in-house professionals who are best suited for each specific project ensuring resource commitment throughout each project. He develops correct and cost-effective solutions for customers to ensure that Brewer-Garrett projects not only meet but exceed the expectations of our clients.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Ball State University. He is a licensed contractor in the State of Ohio in HVAC, Hydronics, Plumbing, and Refrigeration.
Geoff Engel
Vice President of Finance, Treasurer
As Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, Geoff Engel’s primary focus is the oversight of company growth and its fiscal strength. He is actively involved in the company’s expansion into related industries and new markets while working closely with current clientele as a liaison between client’s legal departments and Brewer-Garrett.
Geoff earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Cleveland State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a former President of the Mechanical Contractors’ Association of Cleveland, and since 2006 has served as a trustee on the Pipe Fitters Local 120 Health Benefit Plan.
Brian Chambers, PE
Solutions General Manager PE, CEM, OSHA 30
As General Manager of the commissioning, building automation, and construction departments, Brian Chambers’ duties include directing construction operations, project management, engineering, automation, and commissioning, providing necessary resources to develop and install construction projects, and performing job site inspections.
Brian is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Idaho, Nevada, and West Virginia. He is a licensed contractor in the State of Ohio in HVAC, Refrigeration, Hydronics, and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University.
Greg McDonald
Service General Manager
As Service General Manager, Greg McDonald leads the team that provides operations and maintenance services for over 700 facilities. These include industrial, commercial, educational, government, and healthcare clients serviced by our direct field force of HVAC service technicians, controls technicians, and electricians.
Greg earned a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University in Chicago, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Industrial Distribution Management at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Kelly Tisdale
Energy Services General Manager CEM, LEED AP BD+C, CSDP, CDSM, DGCP, OSHA 30
Kelly Tisdale is the General Manager of the Energy Services Division at Brewer-Garrett. He manages the team of energy professionals providing Energy Services Performance Contracting to the educational, commercial, federal and local government, healthcare, and industrial marketplace.
Kelly is a Certified Energy Manager, Distributed Generation Certified Professional, Certified Sustainable Design Professional, a Certified Demand-Side Management Professional, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - Building Design and Construction. He received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Kent State University.
Jason Zorc
Building Solutions Manager CEM, Tridium Controls, OSHA 30
As Building Solutions Manager, Jason Zorc oversees all aspects of energy management and temperature control systems provided to our customers as well as overseeing our third-party commissioning group and software development.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton, is certified in Tridium Controls, and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

Our energy engineers, energy auditors, certified energy managers, automation specialists, certified building commissioning professionals, and LEED accredited professionals are constantly enhancing their skills to bring you the best possible solutions. And they share their expertise in speaking engagements throughout the country. Their designations and certifications are listed below.
- Professional Engineers (PE): Our engineers are licensed by the state of Ohio and other states and have met the legal requirements to practice engineering.
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professionals (LEED AP): This designation promotes achievements and expertise in green building with an emphasis on state-of-the-art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
- Certified Energy Managers (CEM): CEM is the standard for qualifying energy professionals by the US Department of Energy (DOE), the Office of Federal Energy Management Programs (FEMP), the US Agency for International Development, and numerous state offices and private corporations.
- Certified Building Commissioning Professionals (CBCP): We meet stringent professional standards within the building-commissioning field and employ some of the most qualified professionals in the energy industry.
- Building Automation System Certifications: Degrees/certifications in environmental technologies, electrical engineering, fire suppression systems, air and water balancing, and stationary engineering highlight our engineers’ rich experience in a wide variety of control systems including DDC and pneumatics.
- Lighting Certified Professional (LC): This designation recognizes exceptional skill with lighting design efficiency, calculations, and implementation in all market sectors. The LC certificate is recognized by the GSA. It is also a requirement for all government projects.
- Certified Lighting Efficiency Professionals (CLEP): These professionals are accepted leaders in the field of lighting efficiency. The CLEP is also recognized by the EPA as fulfilling the competence certification requirement for membership in the Green Lights Lighting Management Company Ally Program.
- Metrix Certified Auditors: Metrix has set the standard for energy and utility accounting programs. Our engineers have been trained to understand your energy usage by tracking and analyzing cost and consumption.
- Certified Cogeneration Professionals (CCP): Engineers who obtain this designation have demonstrated a superior technical knowledge for development and implementation of cogeneration projects and the distributed power industry.
- Distributed Generation Certified Professionals (DGCP): This certificate recognizes leadership and competence (in development and management) in the field of distributed generation.
- Certified Demand Side Managers (CDSM): Our engineers have demonstrated an in-depth understanding of building operations and their effects on the utility rates.
- Certified Measurement & Verification Professionals (CMVP): These professionals have demonstrated the technical knowledge requisite for performance measurement and verification (M&V). They have demonstrated high level of competence and ethical fitness in measurement and verification.
- North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, Inc. (NABCEP) Photovoltaic Associate™: The NABCEP Associate Program recognizes individuals who have demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, and operation of Photovoltaic energy systems. Amanda Chambers holds the NABCEP PV Associate™ credential.
